Frosted Banana Bars

1/2 cupbutter, softened
1 1/2 cupsugar
1 cupsour cream
1 tspvanilla extract
2 cupsall purpose flour
1 tspbaking soda
1/4 tspsalt
2 mediumripe bananas, mashed (1 cup)


1 pkgcream cheese, softened (8 oz)
1/2 cupbutter, softened
2 tspvanilla extract
3.75-4 cupsconfectioners sugar


  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar
  2. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and slat. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in bananas.
  5. Spread into a greased 15x10" baking pan.
  6. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely
  8. For frosting, in mixing bowl beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla.
  9. Gradually beat in enough confectioner's sugar to achieve desired consistency.
  10. Frost cooled bars. Store in the refrigerator


Makes 3-4 dozen bars
